Offering - Introduction
Offering consists of two groups of paintings made during 2005 and 2006. Most of the images continue my use of woodcuts and monoprinted marks onto the canvas surface. The motif of the open head forms at the bottom of the paintings connects them directly to Fertile Ground, completed in 2004.
The series of paintings titled Noble Beast depicts the hollow form of the head as a dry well. The imagination hallucinates, creating forms of thirsty animals attempting to quench themselves from the mirage of their surroundings.The series Introversion imagines the innermost spirit forms of our heads as they present themselves to a world inside our consciousness.
